Recently, a research group from the School of Materials Science and Technology at ShanghaiTech University has made significant progress in the field of O3 phase sodium ion battery anion redox cathode materials. The research results were published online in the internationally renowned journal Nature Communications under the title "Enabling the synthesis of O3 type sodium anion redox cathodes via atmosphere module".

As a key laboratory of Shanghai University of Science and Technology, the research group of the School of Material Science and Technology focuses on the precise synthesis of O3 phase oxygen anion active cathode materials for sodium ion batteries. For the first time, the key regulatory role of atmospheric conditions (especially oxygen content) in the synthesis process of O3 phase OAR sodium ion cathode materials has been systematically revealed.

The in-situ gas chromatography device self-made by the researchers mainly consists of a set of mass flow controllers (to control the gas and provide accurate experimental data), a tube furnace (TF55035C-1), a dehumidification column filled with silica gel and 4 Å molecular sieve, and a gas chromatograph (9790Plus) equipped with a thermal conductivity detector (TCD). The gas chromatograph is also equipped with an electromagnetic six way valve, allowing for continuous injection and in-situ measurement of gas composition from the tube furnace.
The repeatability and stability requirements for gas flow control are very high during the experimental testing phase. The YIDU mass flow controller has the advantages of high stability during continuous operation, high resolution accurate to two decimal places, and flexible switching of over 70 media, providing accurate data for key control of atmosphere conditions in material synthesis processes, thereby assisting in the high-quality completion of experiments.
