How to Choose a Gas Mass Flow Controller?
Some people choose one based solely on the brand? You’re definitely falling into the capitalist trap! Can’t understand the model and parameters, causing delays in production and ruining the process?Don’t panic! Give me one minute. From identifying your core needs and budget,to selecting the most cost-effective model configuration based on on-site working conditions,I’ve got you covered!
P.S. There’s also a video version of the selection guide at the end~ If you don’t want to read the article, you can opt for the video!
Needs and Budget
1. Operational Purpose
First, clarify the purpose of the device: do you only need to measure the flow rate, or do you need to control it? These two needs correspond to two different types of devices—don’t mix them up!
2. Gas Type
Second, what gas are you measuring? Is it common gases like air or nitrogen, or special gases? Gas properties directly affect device compatibility—no mistakes allowed!
Gas Types Supported by Each Yidu Device
3. Flow Range
Third, what is the flow range you require? Currently, Yidu’s stable flow control range spans from 0.5 SCCM to 5000 SLPM. Choosing the right range ensures the device performs better and lasts longer!
Working Conditions
1. Pressure and Differential Pressure First
What are the inlet and outlet pressures? Unstable pressure will affect measurement accuracy.Flowmeters and controllers based on the laminar differential pressure principle need to take the front-and-rear differential pressure into account.
2. Temperature Next
Consider the temperature of the gas itself and the installation environment—avoid subjecting the device to extreme cold or heat!
3. Other Working Conditions
What level of precision do you need?
Is fast response required?
Is the gas source clean?
System Integration
1. Communication System
How will the device communicate? Will it connect to a computer or a PLC? Yidu currently supports RS485, MODBUS RTU, analog communication, and other communication protocols.Oh, and would you prefer a display screen for convenient on-site monitoring?
2. Pipeline Interface
What size is the pipeline interface? Is it G thread, VCR, compression fitting, or IGS?
3. Power Supply and Installation Space
Do you need 24V DC power supply or a portable battery?
Is the installation space sufficient? Are there any requirements for the direction of the electrical interface?
Failing to confirm these details may cause installation problems later and lead to unnecessary delays!
Special Requirements
If you need explosion-proof features, low pressure loss, or have other special process requirements, be sure to specify them in advance!
Yidu offers thousands of models. Our engineers will accurately match the optimal solution based on your complete requirements—no need for you to figure it out by yourself!
